Books

I am a huge reader… and there are so many excellent tarot books out there to sink your teeth into. I own all of these… yes, I might have a book addiction!

  • Guided Tarot for Seamless Readings by Stephanie Caponi – BUY HERE
    • This is a great book for beginners. Every card has a brief interpretation for General, Love/Romance, Career/Money, Personal/Spiritual and Reversed.
  • Tarot Therapy by Leona Nichole Black – BUY HERE
    • I love this book as it gives you journalling reflection prompts to explore the cards for topics such as Love, Purpose, Healing, Change, Truth, Hope, Intuition and Creativity, based an all the Major Arcana.
  • WTF is Tarot? by Bakara Wintner – BUY HERE
    • This is a modern, quirky interpretation of tarot. I love the way Bakara writes with anecdotes from her own life experience. It is fun and so tarot should be!
  • Tarot and the Archetypal Journey by Sallie Nichols – BUY HERE
    • I will admit I haven’t finished this book yet, but it will stay on my ‘to read’ pile until I do. It goes deeper into how we can use the tarot and Jung’s teachings to give us personal insight.
  • The New Mythic Tarot by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Green – BUY HERE
    • The book to accompany The Mythic Tarot card deck. It gives you the story of the card and also what it can mean in a reading – get this if you want an alternative deck other than the Rider Waite deck. The stories and images from Greek mythology will bring the meanings alive for you.
  • Tarot by Number by Liz Dean – BUY HERE
    • Cute little book all about the significance of the numbers in the tarot. Plenty of examples of spreads.
  • The Ultimate Guide to the Ride Waite Tarot by Johannes Fiebig and Evelin Burger – BUY HERE
    • Give you images of all the symbols to look for in the Rider Waite deck when doing readings. Breaks down the interpretations of the cards into basic meanings, Spiritual, as a card of the day, prognosis, love / relationships and success and happiness.
  • Kitchen Table Tarot by Melissa Cynova – BUY HERE
    • This is one of the first Tarot books I bought and I’d really recommend it for beginners. It has meanings for every card and reserved meanings too.
  • Tarot for Change by Jessica Dore – BUY HERE
    • Thorough interpretations and stories of each card. I love the way Jessica writes.
  • Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack – BUY HERE
    • Again probably not for beginners. In-depth explanations of all the cards.
  • Modern Day Tarot Play by Emma Toynbee – BUY HERE
    • I wouldn’t recommend this for book for beginners as it could be overwhelming but its great for looking at how combinations of cards can be read.
  • The Tarot Life Planner by Lady Lorelei – BUY HERE
    • This book gives you an overview of the cards but also gives you instructions on how to use the cards to change your life! There is a section of affirmations inspired by the cards and information about the chakras and meditations. It is for people who want to use the tarot as a self-development tool for themselves.
  • Tarot Masterclass by Paul Fenton-Smith – BUY HERE
    • This is a comprehensive guide to the Tarot and also gives you advice on how to gain experience and how to become a professional tarot reader. I think this is a good book for beginners and also more experienced readers.
